The style was right out of the runway for spring 2025.
Unexpectedly, stripes are chosen for a movie premiere. Emma Stone, however, made a tasteful and sophisticated choice this week at the New York Film Festival. The actress donned a semi-sheer Louis Vuitton gown, with thin stripes of beige and brown that linked in a V shape at Stone’s chest and drifted diagonally across the skirt.
The bohemian dress from Nicolas Ghesquière’s spring/summer 2025 collection just had its runway premiere at Paris Fashion Week a few days ago. The semi-sheer material revealed hints of Stone’s black bodysuit underneath. With ties on both sides of the elbow-length sleeves and a silhouette reminiscent of a cape, the cut was more traditional.
As seen on the Vuitton runway, she accessorised the gown with long, layered necklaces. She wore modest black heels that were strappy. In order to give some colour to the otherwise monochromatic ensemble, Stone also sported her trademark red lip.
Stone went to Alice Tully Hall to see the premiere of A Real Pain at the festival. Jesse Eisenberg wrote, directed, and produced the movie, which was produced by Stone. The film centres on Eisenberg and Kieren Culkin, two cousins who travel to Poland to pay tribute to their late grandmother by seeing places associated with the Holocaust. It’s going to be a meditation on sorrow meets a buddy comedy, out in a limited number of cinemas on November 1.
Eisenberg spoke about Zoom during the film’s premiere. “I came across an online advertisement for ‘Auschwitz Tours (With Lunch).” Eisenberg stated, “That seemed like something to write about,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. The message is that, although we as a contemporary middle-class culture want to go and feel our ancestors’ trauma, we also want to enjoy all of our creature comforts.
A Real Pain was the event’s major focus, however Stone may have hinted at a future project with a part of her appearance. Rumour has it that Stone shaved her head in preparation for her new picture, Bugonia, which is her fifth feature film with director Yorgos Lanthimos. A video of Stone from the NYFF premiere showed her waving to and moving what appears like a wig with Culkin’s wife, Jazz Charton. Additionally, Stone wore a navy blue beanie with no visible hair in recent paparazzi pictures of her.
The summer was spent filming the English-language version of the 2003 Korean film Save the Green Planet! Fans won’t, however, get formal confirmation of Stone’s purported appearance for some time as Bugonia isn’t scheduled to debut until November 2025.
