Ultimately, the majority of Blackburn Rovers fans expressed satisfaction with the club’s actions throughout the summer transfer window.
At Ewood Park, the team now has nine first-team players, six of whom have signed long-term contracts.
Many believed that the club had given head coach John Eustace a better overall roster of choices with such signings.
It was also anticipated that the newcomers would be able to cover for the players who were leaving the team, most notably Sammie Szmodics, the winner of the Championship Golden Boot last season.
Rovers have shown encouraging signals for the most part, despite a decline in performance right before the October international break.
When the market reopens at the beginning of the year, they will try to duplicate that successful job there.
In light of that, we’ve looked at a few of the transactions that would make Blackburn Rovers’ January window perfect right here.
Signs of Augustus Kargbo
According to a rumour from last month, the Ewood Park team is eager to sign Augustus Kargbo from Cesena during the January transfer window.
In eight games this season in the Italian second division, the winger has tallied two goals and dishevelled two assists; hence, he might be valuable to Eustace’s team in the long run.
Kargbo may be sold in the summer, according to rumours, and Blackburn might be happy to close a long-term agreement.
This summer, the contracts of Tyrhys Dolan, Arnor Sigurdsson, Ryan Hedges, and Dilan Markanday expire, while Amario Cozier-Duberry is only on loan for the duration of the campaign.
They will therefore probably need some longer-term options out wide, and Kargbo might supply that in addition to possibly giving the team some much-needed pace.
Lewis Travis remains
Following his summer return to Blackburn following a loan stint at Ipswich Town during the second half of the previous campaign, there was conjecture regarding Lewis Travis’s future throughout the window.
The centre midfielder was reportedly attracting interest from other Championship teams, including Stoke City and Hull City, but no deal was reached.
However, given that the 26-year-old made an impression early in the season, it might not come as a surprise if interest in him increases in January.
But Rovers will undoubtedly want to hold onto Travis past the upcoming window since they don’t want to lose the impact of their club captain, especially not to a Championship opponent.
Not a single loanee was remembered
After an outstanding first half of the season on loan at Ewood Park, James Hill’s recall by home club Bournemouth in January was a shock to Blackburn.
They will want to avoid a recurrence of that, with Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, Stoke City midfielder Lewis Baker, and Liverpool left-back Owen Beck now on loan with Eustace’s team.
Despite receiving a contentious red card in the goalless draw against Preston North End, Beck has performed admirably in the starting lineup.
From the bench, Cozier-Duberry has shown remarkable promise and appears poised to contribute straight away, while Baker has demonstrated his potential and offers valuable experience.
Because of this, losing any of the three would be devastating because it would leave them lacking depth in their respective positions in addition to their skill.
Therefore, when the new year rolls around, Blackburn will be hoping that none of its loaned players will be returning too soon to their parent clubs.
