“I would always get fired,” according to Nicki Minaj.
Speaking with Eva Chen, the Vice President of Fashion at Meta, Nicki Minaj recently remembered a traumatic event when she was dismissed from her job at Reb Lobster. Earlier this week, the two had sat down to talk at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion event in New York City. While talking about her previous professions outside of the music industry, the subject came up. Minaj made a joke about having multiple jobs but “always getting fired.”
She started by saying, “Working as a waitress at Red Lobster was one of the big [times].” “It is impolite for people to enter and not leave a gratuity. This woman and her boyfriend required my pen to sign the credit card slip when they came in one day. When I returned to the table, they had taken my pen in addition to failing to give me a tip.

“For some reason, that triggered me,” Minaj said. They were about to leave when I dashed out into the parking lot and nabbed them. I yelled, “Give me my pen!” and struck their window so forcefully that it broke. After they came clean, I lost my job.
The interview follows Minaj’s dramatic performance in her hometown of Queens, New York, earlier this month, which marked the conclusion of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. She recently took to X (previously Twitter) to dispel rumours that she was taking a break, even though the tour was over. “I’m not going anywhere.” “Hiatus & kiss my ass,” she wrote.
