Before the January transfer market opens, Rangers is already working hard on the club’s transfer business.

Nils Koppen, the head of recruitment, and interim chairman John Gilligan have both mentioned that efforts are being made to get Rangers’ winter transfer window underway as soon as it opens.

Rangers may encounter some unexpected competition for a former free-agent Ibrox star, should they be interested, although there is already a lot of transfer rumours due to the mounting expectations.

Saudi Arabia and England are interested in Ryan Kent.

Ryan Kent, a former winger for Rangers, was released from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce earlier this month and is currently looking for a new team.

The 27-year-old attacker is now free to discuss terms with a new team in anticipation of a possible January transfer after having a terrible 18 months or so in Istanbul.

There is a lot of interest in where the former Liverpool winger will end up come January, especially when reports surfaced that he turned down a possible return to Scotland this summer.

Naturally, Rangers has been brought up, but the Scottish Sun has added a surprise name in relation to a transfer for Kent.

Long-time suitors Leeds United have once again been touted, while English League One team Leyton Orient is reportedly seriously interested in a trade for Kent.

Saudi Arabia is apparently interested as well, as Ryan Kent considers his options after his four-year contract in Turkey was terminated.

The Rangers management attempted to sign Kent, Ryan

Following Ryan Kent’s release from Fenerbahce, Rangers manager Philippe Clement was questioned about the winger’s availability.

Prior to Rangers spending £7 million to bring the winger to Glasgow from Liverpool following an initially fruitful loan term, the former manager of Club Brugge attempted to get Kent to Belgium.

Although he would not clarify whether the club might want to add Kent to their squad in January, Clement is adamant that he knows the player despite refusing to be drawn on the ties.

With the Gers lacking in the last third, Rangers have been connected to several left-wing attackers and are reportedly looking for a new alternative in the position.

A few weeks ago, Clement told reporters, “I’ve stated already in this past year that I don’t go into rumours because then it never stops.” Thus, I will refrain from engaging in rumours.

Naturally, though, I’ve known the player for a long time because I was negotiating with him to get him to (Club) Brugge as soon as he left for Rangers.

However, I believe that Rangers offered a better deal in that regard, so he went with it. I’ve known him for a while, but I won’t start spreading tales about him bringing guys on.
