Mads Hermansen claimed that City’s “performance wasn’t good enough” after they lost to Nottingham Forest, their neighbours, at the King Power Stadium after giving up twice in the second half.
As players responded to Leicester City’s derby-day loss to Nottingham Forest, Mads Hermansen apologised.
Chris Wood scored twice in the second half as Steve Cooper’s team crumbled at King Power Stadium on Friday night, and the goalie remarked that “the performance wasn’t good enough.” Shortly after halftime, City fell behind and failed to respond.
At the final whistle, there were jeers because City had only won one of their last five home Premier League games. Even yet, with Southampton, Wolves, and Ipswich still without a victory, they will be at least five points above the drop zone by the conclusion of the weekend.
We apologise for not giving you all a win last night, Hermansen posted on social media. We didn’t perform well enough. We’ll get back up!
“Really hard one to take,” remarked Abdul Fatawu, who started the game for the first time in the Premier League since August. We are quite unhappy that yesterday night’s outcome did not meet our expectations. I appreciate your tremendous support, everyone.
“Time to regroup to bounce back!” declared right-back Ricardo Pereira, who was given his first Premier League debut of the season following Victor Kristiansen’s injury. I appreciate your support. Defender Caleb Okoli, meanwhile, added: “It wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for. I appreciate your support.
When City plays fellow promoted team Ipswich at Portman Road on Saturday, they have a great chance to recover. This Saturday, the Tractor Boys lost 4-3 to Brentford after giving up a two-goal lead.
However, City will first visit Old Trafford. They play Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and a spot in the quarterfinals is up for grabs.
