In an attempt to resume winning ways in the Championship, Sheffield Wednesday will visit Norwich City in the middle of the week.

Although Sheffield Wednesday had a more difficult start to the season than anticipated going into this matchup with Norwich City, it was nevertheless shocking that their recent upswing in play ended with a crushing 6-2 loss to Watford over the weekend.

After 13 games, the Owls are only three points above the relegation zone in 18th place in the Championship standings. They will be looking to respond against the Canaries this weekend after suffering that significant loss the previous Saturday.

Having lost to Cardiff City 2-1 following three consecutive draws, Norwich City is now on a four-game losing streak. Borja Sainz’s 11th Championship goal of the season put them ahead 1-0 going into the 89th minute, but late scores saw them leave Carrow Road empty-handed.

Although performances haven’t always produced results, Norfolk’s Johannes Hoff Thorup era has started off mostly positively. They are still only three points outside of the top six and in 10th place.

Here are some of our writers’ predictions for the match.

Hodgson, Charlie

“I find it really difficult to call this game. You never know what to expect this season when it comes to Wednesday. Even though they have made numerous impressions, they are still in danger of being relegated.

On the other hand, Norwich City has a strong team, but it is not surprising that their performance has declined given their current injury woes.

I simply feel like Wednesday might win this one. Given Norwich’s diminished roster, I wouldn’t be shocked if Danny Rohl had a plan to win all three points.

Forecast: Norwich City 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Ray James

Both teams experienced genuine disappointment as the weekend came to a conclusion. Two teams should compete to come up with a statement answer, although that might result in a bit of a standoff.

Norwich City let victory slip out of their grasp, while Sheffield Wednesday was completely overwhelmed in their crushing loss to Watford. For a variety of reasons, it leaves people feeling quite frustrated.

“I doubt that anything will separate these two. The hosts will probably be pleased with a draw, but considering how difficult Hillsborough can be to visit, Thorup and company shouldn’t be too upset about it either.

Forecast: Norwich City 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
