Alan Nixon claims that Sir Alex Ferguson has purchased a new home in Glasgow to be near Rangers when he leaves Manchester United next year.

In order to be nearer to his ‘other team’ at Ibrox and spend more time with his brother Martin, the great manager bought a fancy flat in the west end, according to the journalist’s article in The Sun on Sunday, 10 November, page 57.

While Sir Alex’s new property is very close to Ibrox, just across the River Clyde, Martin serves as the associate director at Airdrie.

After Man United rejects him, Alex Ferguson buys a flat near Rangers.

This follows the announcement that Ferguson will step down as a global ambassador for Manchester United at the end of the current campaign (BBC).

Since leaving his position as manager of the Red Devils in 2013, the Scot has been employed by the team as an ambassador and club director.

However, following candid discussions, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s new owner, has chosen to fire him in an effort to save money.

Ferguson may now be able to relocate to Glasgow in order to be nearer to his brother and Rangers.

The former Aberdeen manager has shown his fondness for the Gers, whom he played for throughout his playing career, in the past.

It’s unclear if this move will result in Ferguson joining Ibrox as an advisor. Given the club’s well-known structural issues, the Light Blues could definitely use some of his advice.
