Following their victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday afternoon, Celtic are still leading the Scottish Premiership.
Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn’s goals put Kilmarnock out of the game and preserved Celtic’s undefeated league record.
The Celtics’ supporters were concerned about if Cameron Carter-Vickers was hurt when Brendan Rodgers made two changes to the squad.
The Celtic manager also provided an update on the US international and the reasons Carter-Vickers was excluded from the matchday squad entirely prior to the Kilmarnock victory.
Celtic “didn’t want to take a chance.” Kilmarnock vs. Cameron Carter-Vickers
The plastic Kilmarnock field is notoriously dangerous, and Celtic manager Rodgers says he didn’t want to take any chances with Carter-Vickers following his most recent injury problems.
“He’s okay, obviously not perfect unless he would have been here today,” Rodgers said to Sky Sports. However, after being out for a short while, he played three games in a short amount of time.
Thus, in terms of games, he had Red Bull Leipzig, Aberdeen, and Dundee close by. He just had mild hamstring tiredness as a result of the effort we put into him.
“But nothing serious, but we didn’t want to take any chances today, and when we return, he’ll be prepared for Hearts.”
Cameron Carter-Vickers’ history of Celtic injuries
Without a doubt, one of Celtic’s best and most dependable players is the large American defender.
Though the Hoops defender is hoping for a quick return from his hamstring issue, Carter-Vickers is not without his injury issues.
In light of that, the following is a comprehensive list of all the injuries Carter-Vickers has sustained since joining Celtic.
I hope the Celtic defender recovers quickly from this recent injury, which Rodgers maintains is merely a precaution.
