Steve Cooper reacts to the jeers from Leicester City as the Manchester United defeat brings back the chant
As he works to make amends for the loud jeers that followed Leicester City’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United, manager Steve Cooper will not take any days off.
Cooper has no time to unwind during City’s two-week break before their next match, which marks Enzo Maresca’s return to the King Power Stadium with Chelsea. He still needs to win over his fan base.
At Old Trafford, the away end jeered as the final whistle blew following their worst defeat of the Premier League season. During the game, there were cries of “Cooper, sort it out!” that had not been heard so loudly since September at Walsall.
The management has experienced these kinds of unfavourable reactions from fans before, but persuading some fan segments that they are headed in the right direction is still a problem. Even though there aren’t any matches to be ready for, it means there will be a lot of work to be done over the next two weeks.
Cooper declared, “Whether you’re here at Old Trafford or somewhere else, you’re not going to get cheered off because it’s a 3-0 loss.” As previously stated, I have no issue with any fan’s response, positive or negative, as they have a right to it given the three away games, the money they spend, and their dedication.
Regardless of how they may feel, I greatly respect that. Like anything else, I’ll embrace any circumstance and be inspired to assist it improve and continue in accordance with our beliefs.
“We are working with the guys that are currently with us throughout the international break. Off the pitch, we will put in more effort to study, assess, plan, and prepare for our next start. Since there isn’t a game the next weekend, there may be some leeway in terms of game preparation, but staff members won’t have any days off.
With the loss and Ipswich’s victory over Tottenham, City is now three points and three spots above the relegation zone. Only Manchester City remains the only team to have scored in every Premier League game this season, although their run of doing so has also ended.
