For the Parkhead supporters, the Lennon Miller to Celtic debate has been going on for what feels like forever.
Miller was recently linked to a move to Celtic Park, and the Motherwell youngster has been in outstanding form over the past two seasons.
However, the discussion among commentators over the highly regarded young player joining Celtic has persisted ever since.
Miller’s outstanding performance at Fir Park during the Hoops’ 3-1 victory last season prompted Charlie Mulgrew to urge Celtic to “sign him now.”
According to Andy Walker, Miller “has the potential” to play for the Bhoys, and Jim Duffy even insisted that Celtic “sign him up” back in April.
Gordon Duncan, the radio host, was shocked when Cammy Bell offered a price that Motherwell would be able to charge Celtic for Miller when the conversation continued last night.
Lennon Miller could cost Celtic £8 million, according to Celtic.
“No, listen, I think Celtic can absolutely afford him, yes,” Bell told Superscoreboard. But once more, does Lennon Miller fit into Celtic’s commercial model?
“Because I really believe Motherwell has a chance to receive seven or eight million pounds.”
Duncan: “Really?”
Bell: “I truly do,” Bell said. European teams, I believe, will be considering him. Not to disparage him, but his age and the stats he’s generating are impressive for a Motherwell team. Thus, I believe there are many.
And once more, several of our players have gone on to play for major European clubs. Thus, there is currently interest in Scottish football. Therefore, I believe Celtic would have fierce competition in their pursuit of him.
Although the pundit retracts, he acknowledges that Lennon Miller would make a “very good move” to Celtic.
Bell went on to say, “I think it would be a really good move for Celtic because he’s a top player and will only get better.”
However, I really believe that he is worth six, possibly not eight, six, and seven million pounds. Does that align with Celtic’s business plan, where they believe they can sell him for £20 million in three or four years?
If Celtic thinks the player has what it takes to grow into a vital member of the squad and an investment for the future, they will spend that type of money.
Given how much Celtic paid for Adam Idan and Arne Engels, the Parkhead club has already demonstrated that.
Without a doubt, Miller is a fantastic young player with a bright future in the game. Brendan Rodgers would definitely have a look at him if he were available.
