Mark Guidi has implied that there would be a reward in the event if the Belgium FA hired Philippe Clement, and he thinks Rangers supporters would rejoice.

Clement is the front-runner to succeed Domenico Tedesco, who is under pressure at the Red Devils [Rangers Review, 18 November].

The 50-year-old’s contract was recently extended by the Light Blues until 2028. In an interview with the Go Radio Football Show Podcast [18 November], Guidi says Belgium would have to pay a high price to acquire him, but the Ibrox supporters wouldn’t mind.

“I think the majority of Rangers fans would be celebrating if the club had to accept compensation and let him go,” he remarked.

“The mood isn’t pleasant right now. The football style isn’t appealing to them. If Philippe Clement leaves, I doubt anyone would cry.

In the Euros, Todesco found himself in a same predicament. He may have resigned, I believe. “We’ll try new things,” he replied, remaining.

Should the Belgium FA decide to fire him at the end of the season, they will search for someone else. However, he is currently still with the team, and given that he signed that new contract, it would cost Belgium a little money to get Clement to leave.

The Rangers ought to let Philippe Clement go.

The Bears accepting a sum from Belgium to let go of Clement would surely be the icing on the cake for fans.

After a dismal start to the season—the Gers are currently nine points behind Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership—the supporters are already eager to see the 50-year-old go.

The Belgian hasn’t performed well this season, and some people thought the team’s 2-1 loss to Aberdeen should have been the last straw.

The Rangers’ decision to keep Clement on board for the time being may be related to the fact that they will need to pay him off in order to let him go [Daily Record, November 13].

It is regrettable that fans must endure this, and it appears that the team will now have to wait to see if the Belgium FA will take action.

It is not wise for the Bears to continue with the 50-year-old, regardless of whether they will have to pay him, as their chances of winning all tournaments could always deteriorate.
