Scouts from Sunderland are said to have travelled to Europe to observe the 18-year-old Celtic striker play.
After seeing the 18-year-old Celtic striker Daniel Cummins’ most recent youth match, Sunderland is among the teams expressing interest in the player.
Prior to the January transfer window, Peter O’Rourke of Football Insider reports that Cummings scored his sixth goal in five games in Europe while playing for Wolves, Fulham, Ipswich, Sunderland, and Burnley.
In the summer of 2022, the Celtics fan signed his first professional deal. Cummings made his debut in the Lowland League Celtic B squad last season, where he quickly built a name for himself as a prolific goal scorer the following season. He has already scored 32 goals in 43 games.
The attacker, who has began the season averaging more than a goal per game with the B team and playing for Celtic’s juvenile teams in the league and in Europe, made national headlines in May 2023 when he scored the game-winning goal in a 6-5 victory against Rangers in the Scottish juvenile Cup final.
