Regis Le Bris, the manager of Sunderland, has revealed his possible plans for the January transfer window.
The Black Cats are presently preparing for their matchup with Stoke City in an attempt to make amends for their recent loss to Sheffield United, who are currently atop the table.
With just two goals scored in their last three games, Sunderland is currently six games without a victory and their attacking prowess seems to have slightly stalled.
Many of the problems, especially in the last third of play, are related to the injuries Regis Le Bris’ team is now dealing with, including Romaine Mundle’s notable absence.
To strengthen their choices, Black Cats manager Le Bris was naturally asked if reinforcements will be brought in January. However, the Frenchman concluded that this would not result in significant changes at the Stadium of Light.
Regis Le Bris explains why it’s “clear” that Sunderland won’t undergo significant changes during the transfer window.
In order to bolster the Black Cats’ roster, Sunderland made a number of acquisitions this summer, several of whom arrived on Deadline Day.
Even if Le Bris’ team has recently struggled, the manager says it’s “not my way of thinking” and that an overhaul is not anticipated in January.
When asked how many players could be added in January during his pregame press conference, he responded, “We can’t expect to change the whole dynamic with one or two players.” I don’t think that way.
