A hamstring issue forced the Jambos defender to be stretchered off during the Saturday draw with Aberdeen.
It appears that Stephen Kingsley will miss a significant portion of Hearts’ season.
Due to a hamstring injury, the key defender was carted off during the weekend draw with Aberdeen. Kingsley will need surgery, which will take him out of commission for a few months. According to the Tynecastle medical staff, the defender might return before the season ends if all goes according to plan.
Hearts manager Neil Critchley is devastated since he is a key member of the team and has contributed significantly to their recent success. At the moment, Critchley is attempting to pull his side out of the Premiership. This weekend, they will play Dundee at home in an attempt to regain ground on city rivals Hibs.
Frankie Kent, who also left the game against Aberdeen due to injury, is another player that Critchley is worried about. Hearts may want to strengthen their defensive options in addition to acquiring a striker during the January transfer window due of Kingsley’s injury.
“Stephen will be having surgery on his hamstring, so he’ll be facing a significant period of time out, which is obviously unfortunate for him and us, so that’s bad news,” the Hearts manager said at his press conference. I wouldn’t want to say whether it will be this season or the next one just yet because he needs to have the surgery and we’ll have to wait and see how it goes, but it will be a long time.
The manager acknowledged that it might influence his choices when the January transfer window opens because they have a lot of work to do to try to get off the bottom of the table. “Maybe, certainly,” he responded, “but we were already examining that part of the field. However, since Stephen is not here, we will need to take that into account.
He went on to say of Kent: “It’s better news with Frankie. He completed some training at the end of the week, and we’re still holding out hope that he’ll be considered for participation.
