Derek Ferguson has expressed his strong desire for Rangers to make a concerted effort to involve Sir Alex Ferguson behind the scenes at Ibrox.
According to Alan Nixon, writing for The Sun on Sunday on 10 November, the legendary former Manchester United manager recently purchased a flat in Glasgow to be closer to Rangers, a team he holds dear. This development has fueled speculation that Sir Alex might be open to contributing to the club in some capacity, given his deep connections to the Gers.
BBC Sport pundit Derek Ferguson believes the club should seize the opportunity, describing the idea as a “no-brainer.” Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said, “First and foremost, he could probably buy the whole of Govan, never mind just a house,” he joked.
“Alex Ferguson has previously hinted at wanting to be involved with Rangers or have some level of influence. For me, it’s an obvious move.
“I think the club should draw on the expertise of people like him who have achieved so much. I’d also bring Graeme Souness into the fold in some capacity. It’s crucial to have individuals who not only understand the game inside out but have also experienced success and command respect.”
