After seeing something during Rangers vs. Tottenham, a former Celtic player has vented his rage.
What he witnessed during Rangers vs. Tottenham in the Europa League has disgusted a former Celtic player.
At Ibrox, the Light Blues drove their rivals from North London all the way. Rangers’ momentum is growing throughout the team before they play Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup final on Sunday, but a banner before kickoff has become a talking point.
In striking reference to President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign slogan in the USA, home fans unfurled a banner that said, “Make Rangers great again,” as the intensity of the atmosphere reached fever pitch. Marc Crosas, who played for Celtic for three years from 2008 to 2011, was furious about this.
He tweeted an emoji of a sick person along with a four-word summary of his distaste on X. “COULD NOT BE WORSE” is all he wrote in capital letters, naming Rangers in the tweet.
Since leaving, Crosas has made no secret of his Celtic affiliation. “My friends and family know my dream was always to play for Barcelona but Celtic took over my life in a way that is hard to describe,” the former Barcelona kid said of the Hoops. To me, it was more than a football team.
“My life was irreversibly altered the day I came at Celtic. Even though I didn’t play as many games as I would have liked, I never lost my passion for the team. I fell even more in love, if anything. I became a true enthusiast after learning about the history.
“There are thousands of people who share my sentiments, and they will comprehend my statement that there are no adequate words to express how unique Celtic is. I am fortunate enough to have experienced their dream, which I will always remember. Even though I left Celtic, the team won’t let me go.
