Hamza Igamane continues to earn widespread praise for his exceptional form at Rangers, cementing his place as a key player in Philippe Clement’s revitalized squad.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski came to the rescue for Ange Postecoglou’s side, securing a vital 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox to move closer to the Europa League knockout stages. The Swedish international, with four goals and seven assists this season, replaced a quiet Timo Werner at halftime and struck the equalizer in the final 15 minutes.
Rangers put on an aggressive and energetic display, buoyed by the electrifying Ibrox atmosphere, and won several key battles across the pitch. Despite Spurs being below their best, Kulusevski shone as his team’s standout performer and praised both Rangers and their passionate supporters. Speaking to PLZ Soccer, he described Ibrox as “an amazing stadium with great fans,” adding, “They played good. I don’t know their situation, I can only focus on my own team.”
Kulusevski also lauded Rangers’ 22-year-old Moroccan striker, Hamza Igamane, who has emerged as a pivotal figure for the team. “They played really well and have a good team, also a strong striker who is very good,” Kulusevski noted.
Igamane, who joined Rangers from AS FAR in Morocco over the summer, initially struggled to make an impact, missing out on the squad for the first three league games. However, he marked his debut in a 3-0 loss to Celtic and scored his first Rangers goal in a 4-0 Europa League win over FCSB. He followed that with a stellar performance against Nice, scoring twice and assisting once, and has since scored in three consecutive games against Kilmarnock, Ross County, and Tottenham.
Now one of the top five scorers in the Europa League, alongside players like Samu Aghehowa and Rasmus Højlund, Igamane’s rise has not gone unnoticed. Former Scotland international Don Hutchison remarked, “He is aggressive in his running. He’s the kind of player a manager can trust because you know he’ll work hard. He’s a bit old school.”
Igamane’s impressive form continues to underline his growing importance to Rangers’ success this season.
