Wednesday staged another comeback to secure a 3-1 win over Oxford United on Saturday afternoon, with goals from Josh Windass, Jamal Lowe, and Djeidi Gassama ensuring their return to winning form.
The victory lifted Danny Röhl’s side to ninth in the Championship table, just five points shy of the play-off spots. Impressively, they now rank fifth in the away form table, having earned 16 points on the road this season.
In an interview with Radio Sheffield after the match, he expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I’m very pleased, especially with the team’s ability to fight back from being 1-0 down. It’s a great testament to their strong mentality. By the end of the first half, I felt we were gaining control, showing more energy, speed, and looking threatening in our attacks. However, I adjusted the formation to include more attacking players, but we lacked precision in certain aspects of our buildup.”
