West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has emerged as a leading candidate for the vacant Southampton job, according to a report.
Football Insider claims the Spaniard is now the favorite to take over at St Mary’s Stadium after discussions at boardroom level. While the outlet suggests Corberan is “keen to leave” the Baggies, he has consistently emphasized his commitment to West Brom when linked to other roles.
Earlier this month, Corberan was rumored to be in contention for positions at West Midlands rivals Wolves and Leicester City. Speaking to the Express and Star, he said: “I can only express how focused I am on West Bromwich and how proud I am to be the coach of this fantastic club.
“I understand that football always brings speculation, but I didn’t even know Leicester’s coach had been sacked, for instance, until last night (Monday). There is so much speculation that lies beyond my control.”
