Neil Lennon believes Willie Collum should return to the VAR room for the upcoming Rangers vs. Celtic clash, as scrutiny of the SFA continues to intensify.
The week has been turbulent for the SFA’s Head of Refereeing Operations, following a major error during the Premier Sports Cup final. The VAR team at Clydesdale House failed to award a stoppage-time penalty after Philippe Clement’s player, Vaclav Cerny, was brought down in the box by Liam Scales. Celtic eventually claimed the trophy in a dramatic penalty shootout. Collum was openly critical of VAR officials Alan Muir and Frank Connor, labeling their oversight as “unacceptable.”
The Key Match Incident panel has also criticized the decision made by the VAR duo, describing it as “a straightforward call that all officials should get right.” Amid a week of controversy, Celtic legend Neil Lennon believes Willie Collum should be present in the VAR room for the Old Firm showdown at Ibrox on January 2.
