Dele Alli, now a free agent, has bid farewell to Everton as he seeks to revive his career away from Goodison Park. A potential move to Rangers could excite former Ibrox legend Ally McCoist, who has previously suggested the England international would be a good fit for the Scottish Premiership. The 28-year-old has been without a contract since June but has continued training with Everton to maintain his fitness following a challenging stint on Merseyside. His last first-team appearance was during a difficult loan spell at Besiktas in February 2023.
In 2022, Alli was having difficulty securing game time with Everton before making a move to the Turkish Super Lig. During that period, McCoist suggested the possibility of Alli moving to Scotland. Speaking to a talkSPORT caller, he said, “We were talking earlier, Dan. I’m guessing here, but you’d probably take Dele Alli at Celtic, right? Because I’d definitely take him at Rangers.”
