According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in acquiring Leon Belcar, a midfielder for Varazdin who is valued at about £650k.
Following an update from Croatian outlet 24 Sata that stated AZ Alkmaar and Club Brugge are also interested in signing the 22-year-old, the news outlet published a story on January 2.
Although he has yet to make his senior debut, he has already made six appearances for the Under-21 team and is being considered by the club during the January transfer window.
Rangers will benefit from adding Leon Belcar.
Despite being a midfielder, Belcar is renowned for his ability to score goals, making him a valuable member of the Gers team.
The Ibrox team lacks a reliable deep midfield player who could contribute to the goals and give the team something special.
Belcar’s presence on the team can be vital because they have had trouble defeating strong teams on occasion.
It’s unclear if the Gers will be able to sign him because there are other teams vying for his services.
His £650k valuation, however, makes him a viable option for the Ibrox team, and if they are serious, they need to start negotiations immediately.
Given Ianis Hagi’s uncertain future, it could be helpful to have a backup who can perform a variety of tasks.
