Rangers have been urged to consider the Manchester United star during the summer season.

Jonny Evans, a defender for Manchester United, has been tipped to join Rangers.

Former striker Kris Boyd put the Northern Irish star in the Ibrox speculation mill earlier this week when he said on Sky Sports that Rangers would be a good fit for him. Due to his back injury problems, manager Philippe Clement may want to bolster his team during the January transfer window.

Evans has a wealth of top-level experience, having played a significant role for Leicester City and Manchester United for a long time. He is back at Old Trafford for his second stint, but a former Premier League player believes he could work for Rangers.

Former goalie Paul Robinson has taken note of the rumours that Old Trafford may be traded for Ibrox and has endorsed it to happen under Ruben Amorim’s new Red Devils administration. He thinks everyone would benefit greatly from the deal.

Robinson said, “It would be a really smart signing,” to Football Insider. Jonny has demonstrated that he is still capable of performing at that level and playing in the Premier League. We are all aware that he is nearing the end of his career, but in times of crisis, you need allies and leaders in the locker room.

“He is a coach and manager, but he is still playing, so it may be really beneficial for the manager to have a player with that kind of leadership around. Rangers would be making a really astute and astute acquisition if they can acquire him and make that work.

“If Jonny Evans isn’t in Amorim’s plans at Manchester United, it might be a good option for him.”
