The goalie may move to Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to the most recent Leeds United reports.

Due to criticism of custodian Illan Meslier’s performance in the draw against Hull City, Leeds United is allegedly open to moving him this month if a good offer comes in.

The Whites had to settle for a point from the match at MKM Stadium because of the 24-year-old’s late error against the Tigers. On Saturday, Hull tied the score in the last ten minutes thanks to late goals from Abu Kamara and Joao Pedro after Leeds had rallied from behind to take a 3-1 lead.

Throughout the game, Meslier received criticism for his part in all three of Hull’s goals. Calls have been made to bench him for the rest of the season, beginning with Saturday’s FA Cup third-round matchup against Harrogate Town.

Manchester United is apparently interested in the custodian as they look for a backup to Andre Onana, and the custodian has been linked to an exit during the current January transfer window.

The Daily Mail claims that if Leeds receives an offer they accept, they may be “open” to selling Meslier in the coming weeks. Daniel Farke has Karl Darlow and Alex Cairns as candidates to take Meslier’s position in the starting lineup if they sell this window without adding a replacement.

Although it has been reported that the custodian is worth about £13 million, it is unclear what kind of price Leeds would be looking for if they were to cash in on him in January. However, they might not receive the same price as before.

At the beginning of the summer, Meslier was worth €18 million (£14.94 million), but now it is only worth €16 million (£13.28 million). In November 2022, his value peaked at €22 million (£18.26 million).
