It has been reported that the 49ers will approve one of Daniel Farke’s core players, after a few Leeds United players were linked to the Elland Road exit door this month.

This month, six Leeds players have been linked to moves. Besiktas is interested in Junior Firpo, and his former team Real Betis is leading the race to sign him. Firpo’s camp is preparing for a transfer.

With Archie Grey being out of position due to Tottenham’s centre-back problems, the team is looking to add Pascal Struijk. Over the weekend, Ally McCoist said he felt sorry for Grey.

However, goalie Illan Meslier is already receiving a lot of flak in the Leeds community for maybe being responsible for all three of the team’s goals against Hull City on Saturday.

Leeds is now prepared to green Illan Meslier’s January sale.

In 26 Championship games, the 24-year-old goalie has kept 14 clean sheets while giving up just 19 goals. However, the Frenchman, one of Leeds’ two vice captains, is being linked to an Elland Road departure.

Meslier is valued at £15 million, and Manchester United and Arsenal have also been mentioned making unexpected bids for him. Rennes is interested in him. According to The Mail, Leeds will consider Meslier’s offers in the upcoming weeks.

Yes, if the price is good, the 49ers will approve a move for Meslier this month. After Saturday, it seems unlikely Leeds will receive a fair price for Meslier, who is now in the last 18 months of his contract.

Despite playing every minute of the 2024–25 Championship season, starting and finishing all 26 games, Meslier continues to be an important member of Farke’s Leeds team.

Jon Newsome’s remarks regarding the weekend sale of Illan Meslier

Former Leeds player Newsome was in attendance on Saturday and watched Meslier play a significant part in squandering away the club’s two-goal lead against Hull. The second goal allowed was an unbelievable howler.

Speaking after the match, Newsome claimed that he would not sell Meslier this month but only because the club would not receive the amount of cash they estimate he is probably worth – but it is unclear how much.

It will be intriguing to see who starts against Harrogate in the FA Cup on Saturday, with Karl Darlow expected to replace Meslier. It will be even more telling who then goes in goal against Sheffield Wednesday.
