Celtic may demand a record-breaking fee for their American center-back as the January transfer window progresses.

Reports suggest the Hoops are open to offers for Cameron Carter-Vickers, despite his importance to the squad and his contract running until 2029.

The Scottish champions are known for balancing player development with profitable sales and have reportedly set an asking price of £20–25 million, which could increase if interest grows.

Carter-Vickers has been instrumental this season, making 13 Scottish Premiership starts, and Celtic is hesitant to let him go mid-season.

However, the club’s strong negotiating position, bolstered by his long-term contract, could see them secure a fee exceeding the current record of £25 million—a figure previously matched by Kieran Tierney, Jota, and Matt O’Riley.

While a move this January seems unlikely, a summer transfer could be on the cards if clubs are willing to meet Celtic’s demands.

For now, the Hoops remain focused on their title pursuit and upcoming matches, including fixtures against Dundee United and Ross County.
