Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, and Hibernian are reportedly interested in signing Luton Town’s Scottish midfielder Allan Campbell, sources have revealed to Football Insider.
Currently on loan at Charlton Athletic, Campbell is said to be open to a return to Scotland this month, a development that has caught the attention of the Scottish Premiership quartet.
The 26-year-old became a fan favorite at Luton Town following his move from Motherwell in July 2021, thanks to his energetic and committed performances. However, the one-cap Scotland international has spent the last 18 months on loan, first at Millwall and now Charlton.
Campbell could be persuaded to leave Luton permanently for a move back to his home country. This season, he has featured 16 times for Charlton under Nathan Jones, registering one assist. Despite these appearances, Campbell has started just nine matches, playing 836 minutes in total during the 2024-25 campaign.
Scottish Premiership Quartet Eye Campbell’s Return
A native of Glasgow, Campbell enjoyed a productive spell at Motherwell, contributing 16 goals and nine assists across 160 appearances before joining Luton. He made 86 appearances for the Hatters, primarily in the Championship, before moving on loan to League One clubs.
Rangers, currently second in the Scottish Premiership, could provide Campbell with the opportunity to play European football, while fourth-placed Aberdeen are also keen as they aim to recover from a mid-season dip. Edinburgh clubs Hibs and Hearts, sitting sixth and 11th respectively, are similarly monitoring the situation.
Campbell’s potential return to Scotland would represent a significant addition for any of these clubs, given his experience and versatility in midfield.
