Rangers cruised into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup with an emphatic 5-0 win over Highland League side Fraserburgh at Ibrox.

Despite the dominant final scoreline, the match remained competitive in the first half, with the Gers leading just 1-0 at the break. A hat-trick from Cyriel Dessers, alongside goals from Clinton Nsiala and Ross McCausland, sealed a comprehensive victory.

Here’s how the Rangers players fared in their triumph over a spirited Fraserburgh side in Govan.

Rangers Player Ratings vs. Fraserburgh

Mason Munn – 6

The 18-year-old goalkeeper made his debut and had a largely comfortable afternoon. A shaky moment with a clearance in the first half nearly cost his side, but he recovered well, bravely taking a knock later in the game. A learning experience in concentration for the youngster.

James Tavernier – 7

Returning to the starting XI, Tavernier provided the corner for Dessers’ opener and was a lively presence on the right flank. He struck the bar in the first half and frequently ventured into attacking positions. A solid outing from the captain.

Robin Propper – 7

A composed and commanding performance at the back, Propper read the game well and provided a steadying influence ahead of Rangers’ upcoming trip to Manchester United.

Clinton Nsiala – 8

The 20-year-old French defender impressed yet again, combining solid defensive work with expressive passing. His standout moment came with a deflected left-footed strike for his first professional goal early in the second half.

Jefte – 8

The Brazilian left-back continued his fine form, finding space repeatedly down the flank. Though his final delivery occasionally lacked precision, he was unlucky not to score when a low effort was tipped onto the post. A consistent threat throughout.

Connor Barron – 6

Barron had a comfortable but unremarkable game in midfield, contributing to a first-half performance that lacked urgency. He struggled to inject tempo but did little wrong defensively.

Mohamed Diomande – 6

Like Barron, Diomande had a quiet game in midfield. While tidy in possession, he lacked the energy to make a significant impact in attacking areas and was subbed off late on.

Nedim Bajrami – 7

Starting in the number ten role, Bajrami showcased his creative instincts with some clever passing. He set up Nsiala’s goal but needs to be more decisive in his decision-making, particularly when opportunities to shoot arise.

Ross McCausland – 8

McCausland was heavily involved throughout the match, displaying technical ability and determination. Though his end product was inconsistent, he deservedly found the net at the back post, capping off a strong performance.

Zak Lovelace – 7

Lovelace impressed in the first half with his physicality and movement, dominating the left flank. While his influence waned in the second half, he worked tirelessly and remained a threat.

Cyriel Dessers – 9

Despite missing an early chance, Dessers was unstoppable, scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist. His clinical performance, capped by wearing the captain’s armband late on, was a reminder of his lethal capabilities.

Substitutes

Ridvan Yilmaz – 5

Showed good offensive positioning and link-up play but had limited time to make a significant impact.

Bailey Rice – 7

The highly-rated midfielder impressed with his composure and willingness to get involved. Created chances and narrowly missed the target with a powerful shot.

Finlay Curtis – 7

On his debut, Curtis made an immediate impact with creative passing and energy. Came close to scoring and showed great promise.

Ianis Hagi – 5

Brought calm and experience to Rangers’ play in the latter stages.

Leon King – N/A

Had limited time to make an impression after replacing Tavernier for the final five minutes.
