Rangers have secured their first signing of the January transfer window, and it appears there could soon be a wave of departures from Ibrox.

Cyriel Dessers, who featured in today’s cup match against Fraserburgh, is reportedly on the radar of Cagliari, who have made him their top target. The Rangers striker has also attracted interest from Saint-Étienne, Atlanta United, and Empoli.

Meanwhile, Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell have been informed they can leave the club, with Matondo drawing attention from teams in England and Italy.

Most recently, Tom Lawrence has emerged as a potential departure, with Besiktas expressing interest in signing the midfielder. The Turkish club, now managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is reportedly keen on a reunion with Lawrence, who previously worked under Solskjaer at Manchester United. According to Fabrizio Romano, Besiktas has shown an “initial interest” in the 31-year-old, whose contract expires this summer.

Injuries have limited Lawrence’s impact at Rangers, and with competition for places in the squad, a move could benefit all parties. Turkish outlet Superhaber claims the deal is already being finalized and that Lawrence will become Solskjaer’s first signing. The report also describes the transfer as a move that has “caused a great stir in European football,” referring to it as the “transfer that shook Europe.”

When asked about potential departures, Rangers manager Philippe Clement remained cautious, stating:

“I never speak about individual cases and names in that way. It’s always in the transfer window. It’s about the right price for every player. It needs to be a win-win for everybody. We will see what’s going to happen next week.”
