There is more to this January transfer window than simply adding Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement to the Rangers roster.

Additionally, it’s about shipping away the Gers players who aren’t receiving enough opportunities or who aren’t paying their high salaries.

Some of those individuals fit into both categories, and there are numerous rumours circulating about transfer interest in some of Rangers’ consistent underachievers.

And if the most recent rumours are to be believed, a Rangers player who has had few opportunities is about to sign a contract south of the border.

A Rangers star is expected to go to England.

Several of Rangers’ junior players, including Alex Lowry, Adam Devine, and Leon King, have made an impression at Ibrox but have struggled to maintain a spot.

Only Leon King has played this season out of the three, and Rangers News exclusively reported that the team plans to loan King out in January.

Regarding the defender, six English Championship clubs are considering their possibilities.

Adam Devine, a 21-year-old right-back who is apparently drawing attention from Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion, has also been heavily linked to a move away from Ibrox.

With Wycombe Wanderers advancing on a permanent contract, Rangers playmaker Alex Lowry appears to be the first of the three to depart the team.

According to Pete O’Rourke, who writes for Football Insider, the League One team is looking to Lowry after their attempt to sign Jamie Jellis of Wallsall failed.

Alex Lowry’s departure freed up more than £300,000 in salary.
The 22-year-old midfielder Alex Lowry isn’t exactly on peanuts, even though he isn’t one of Rangers’ highest paid players.

A lot of excitement surrounded the young Scottish playmaker after Lowry made his debut at Ibrox in January 2022, scoring against Stirling Albion.

Rangers are rumoured to have repelled Manchester City and Newcastle United’s interest in signing Alex Lowry to a new deal the following summer.

According to Salary Sport, the deal is paid a respectable £6.5k a week, or £338k a season.

Rangers, who have already reduced annual expenses by £6 million from the previous season, are hoping to make significant cuts to the club’s pay bill.

Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo have been instructed to find other clubs, and Welsh international Tom Lawrence is attracting more attention.

Due to intense interest from all over Europe, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has also acknowledged that Cyriel Dessers may depart the team this January.
