Leicester City Football Club has announced the departure of manager Ruud van Nistelrooy following a series of disappointing results that have left the team perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone. The decision comes after the Foxes suffered their seventh consecutive league defeat, intensifying concerns over the club’s top-flight status.
Van Nistelrooy, appointed in November 2024, initially brought optimism to the King Power Stadium. However, the team’s form deteriorated rapidly, with recent losses, including a 2-0 defeat to Fulham and a 4-1 loss to Brentford, exacerbating the club’s struggles.
The club’s chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, expressed gratitude for Van Nistelrooy’s efforts, stating, “Ruud’s experience and knowledge were invaluable, but our current trajectory necessitates a change to secure our Premier League status.”
First-team coach Ben Dawson will assume interim managerial duties as the club initiates the search for a permanent successor. Leicester City urges supporters to rally behind the team during this transitional period, emphasizing the collective effort required to navigate the challenges ahead.
