Peter Martin has urged Rangers to prioritize the signing of Motherwell’s 18-year-old midfielder, Lennon Miller.
The PLZ Soccer host emphasized that the Scottish starlet would be an ideal fit for the Light Blues, especially as interest in him grows across Europe.
Speaking on the PLZ Football Podcast (23 January), Martin said: “Rangers should be among the clubs vying for a talented Scottish player like Miller. If they have the funds, he fits perfectly into the profile of the kind of player they should target.”
Rangers urged to pursue Lennon Miller transfer
Given Miller’s rapid development in recent months, it’s highly likely he could secure a move to a top European side soon. Although Rangers may need to pay a premium for his services, the investment could yield significant financial rewards if they sell him in the future.
The success of young players like Hamza Igamane at Ibrox highlights the potential benefits of this approach. The Moroccan striker has thrived with the Gers and could command a significant transfer fee down the line, reinforcing the club’s focus on sustainability and talent development.
While staying competitive with Celtic remains a priority, financial stability is crucial for Rangers, particularly after recent off-field challenges. Supporters are optimistic that Patrick Stewart’s arrival can drive positive changes.
Although Philippe Clement currently has midfield options such as Nicolas Raskin, Mohamed Diomande, Connor Barron, and Ianis Hagi, these players may leave in the coming months. Signing Miller could address potential gaps and provide a long-term solution in midfield.
