Rangers are open to selling Ridvan Yilmaz during the current transfer window, with Besiktas reportedly holding talks over a potential move for the left-back, according to Turkish journalist Mustafa Korkusuz.

The TRT Spor reporter revealed on 24 January that discussions have taken place regarding a possible transfer, which could see Yilmaz join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side before the window closes. Transfers to Turkish clubs remain possible until 11 February, providing additional time for negotiations and potentially allowing Rangers to secure a significant fee.

Yilmaz recently featured in an advanced left-sided role for Philippe Clement’s team during their Europa League clash against Manchester United on 23 January.

“Beşiktaş will definitely sign a left-back, and Rıdvan Yılmaz is on their radar,” Korkusuz stated, as quoted on X (formerly Twitter) by 1903 Digitale. “A meeting has been held, and Rangers are looking to sell him for a transfer fee.”

Rangers remain active in the transfer market, seeking reinforcements before the 3 February deadline. So far, only Rafael Fernandes has joined the club on loan from Lille, but three players have already departed, including Alex Lowry to Wycombe Wanderers and Cole McKinnon and Robbie Fraser on loan deals.

Yilmaz is under contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2027, but Rangers appear keen to capitalize on the 23-year-old’s value while interest is high. Despite his recent consistent playing time following a three-month layoff due to a thigh injury, some fans have expressed frustration with his inconsistent performances.

With Yilmaz’s international experience, age, and two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, a move to one of Turkey’s top clubs could present an opportunity for Rangers to raise funds in this window.
