The final days of the transfer window could be hectic at Ibrox as deadline day looms.
Rangers are reportedly pushing to secure a loan deal for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Bobby Clark before the January window closes.
The 19-year-old moved from Liverpool to Austria last summer in a £6 million transfer to work under former Anfield assistant Pep Lijnders. However, Lijnders has since been dismissed following a disappointing season, and Clark has struggled for consistent game time under new manager Thomas Letsch, mainly making appearances off the bench. With British clubs increasing their interest, Rangers are among those keen on a temporary deal, according to DaveOCKOP. English Championship sides Swansea City, Derby County, and Hull City are also in the race, though it remains uncertain whether Salzburg will approve a loan move.
Meanwhile, Rabbi Matondo appears to be edging closer to an exit. The Welsh winger saw a proposed loan move to Coventry City fall through, but he remains out of favor under Philippe Clement, with youngsters Findlay Curtis and Zak Lovelace being promoted to the first team. De Telegraaf reports that Ajax have emerged as surprise suitors, with the Dutch club eager to strengthen their attacking options.
Ansu Fati is reportedly Ajax’s priority target, but with time running out, their scouting team is also said to be “particularly charmed” by Matondo and could move for him if they fail to reach an agreement with Barcelona for the 22-year-old.
Elsewhere, Tom Lawrence is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with other clubs, having entered the final six months of his Rangers deal. Turkish side Besiktas have expressed interest, and Fotospor claims they are looking to accelerate talks to bring the 31-year-old to the club before the window closes.
