New signings Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven are set to potentially make their Manchester United debuts in tonight’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Leicester City.
Both January arrivals have been named in the matchday squad for the fixture at Old Trafford. Dorgu and Heaven, who joined from Lecce and Arsenal respectively last weekend, were among the first to arrive at the stadium shortly after 4pm today.
With Lisandro Martinez expected to be sidelined for an extended period, United are short on options at left centre-back. This situation could see the left-footed Heaven taking on responsibilities earlier than initially anticipated.
Heaven’s experience is limited—he’s made just one senior appearance, coming off the bench in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Preston North End in the Carabao Cup fourth round last October, replacing Ethan Nwaneri with ten minutes remaining.
Additionally, Toby Collyer and Joshua Zirkzee, who were both on the bench in last Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace, will be eager to push for a starting spot. Notably, Zirkzee hasn’t started in any of the past three matches, with his last start coming in the 2-1 win over Rangers just over two weeks ago.
A total of 18 players were seen arriving at Old Trafford ahead of the 8pm kickoff, so the complete squad remains to be confirmed. The confirmed arrivals include:
- Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
- Defenders: Noussair Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof, Ayden Heaven, Patrick Dorgu
- Midfielders: Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Toby Collyer
- Attackers: Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad
