Arsenal youth midfielder Bless Akolbire appears to have completed a move to Leicester City, with the Premier League confirming the transfer before any official announcement from the clubs. Although neither side has formally declared the switch, the latest squad lists show Akolbire among Leicester’s U21 players rather than with Arsenal.
Rumors of his departure first emerged when he joined Leicester’s U18s on trial in a match against Tottenham Hotspur in November. However, he returned to the Arsenal setup shortly after, appearing as a substitute for the U18s against West Ham in January.
On February 1st, Akolbire started for Leicester in their game against Reading, suggesting that this match marked the beginning of his permanent stint rather than another trial. While nothing is confirmed until an official announcement is made, Arsenal not registering him and Leicester listing him on their squad effectively signals that the transfer is complete.
Since debuting at the U18 level for Arsenal in 2022, Akolbire has made 19 appearances, and he now seems ready to continue his development with Leicester further up north.
