Philippe Clement will be fired following Queen’s Park’s defeat.

At Ibrox, the Gers were the clear favorites, and Philippe Clement’s team was predicted to have too much firepower to handle the Scottish Championship team.

But even though Clement only had one shot during the match, Callum Davidson’s team won 1-0, causing a surprise loss for Clement. The Belgian’s future appeared to be somewhat secure prior to the match, as the Gers finished in the top eight of the Europa League, but following this performance, supporters are now demanding his dismissal, with David Edgar leading the charge.

After Cyriel Dessers was taken down in the area, James Tavernier had a great chance to tie the score in the final seconds, but Calum Ferrie saved the day by stopping the spot-kick from going in. Sebastian Drozds’ goal was sufficient to win the match.

Edgar stated that his dismissal was now certain on X following the game on February 9.

“It’s basically easy,” he wrote. “Clement will undoubtedly be fired. The board will have to decide when to accept that.

“All they can do is appear weak by waiting till the next bad outcome or the one that follows.

The loss against Queen’s Park seems to be the last nail in the coffin, even though Clement has consistently maintained his Rangers job.

This season hasn’t been very good for the Gers, but the fact that they were still in the Scottish Cup probably kept the few supporters he had stuck with him.

In the Scottish Premiership, they now behind Celtic by 13 points, which seems like too much of a difference for them to close.

Additionally, even though they are still in the Europa League, the Ibrox team has very little chance of winning given the caliber of the remaining teams. Therefore, it seems like the right time for the Rangers board to concede defeat and let go of the Belgian; if they are unable to do so, it will seem as though Fraser Thornton and Patrick Stewart have already disappointed their supporters by leaving the team after only six months, which isn’t really how they would have wanted to begin their Rangers careers.

The Gers inexplicably succumbed to the Scottish Championship club at Ibrox on Sunday (9 February) after a second-half goal from Sebastian Drozd.

Later on, James Tavernier had a chance to tie the score from the penalty spot, but Calum Ferrie saved it.

The Light Blues lost against Callum Davidson’s squad, putting them far behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and denying them a chance to win domestic hardware.

Chris Sutton has questioned how long Clement will be fired from the Glaswegian team following a devastating defeat.

The Englishman described the Gers’ elimination from the Scottish Cup as an unpleasant situation.

When Sutton questioned the Belgian manager’s future at Ibrox, Robbie Savage was taken aback.

“How embarrassing does it have to get for you?” the former Celtic star asked on BBC Radio 5 Live on February 10. You were humiliated on your own turf today. Is Clement able to survive the season?

After Govan’s recent form seemed to finally turn the corner, Clement was able to buy himself some time at Rangers.

The Gers defeated Union Saint-Gilloise 2-1 on January 30 to go to the Europa League knockout stages.

The Light Blues were viewed as one of the favorites to win the Scottish Cup after defeating Fraserburgh 5-0 in the fourth round.

Although there was a chance for the Bears to win a trophy at the end of the season, the competition wasn’t created for them.

Supporters have already demonstrated at Ibrox, calling for a change, and it is unclear if the Glaswegian team’s leadership will ultimately fire Clement.

Perhaps he was fortunate to avoid being fired at the beginning of the season, but the Belgian manager’s current predicament appears to be irreparable.

It seems improbable that the Gers will be able to replicate their 2021–2022 season heroics, even though they are still in the Europa League.

The former Monaco head coach may or may not be in the dugout when the Light Blues play Hearts on Sunday, February 16.
