Sergio Aguero’s vow to amputate his testicles in the event that Manchester City loses to Real Madrid went horribly wrong, leaving him looking foolish.

At the Etihad, the Premier League champions and Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid squared off in the opening leg of their Champions League playoff match. City fumbled a seemingly certain victory in the contest.

Kylian Mbappe leveled the score after Erling Haaland gave City the lead. Haaland’s late penalty seemed to give City a vital win, but a late goal from Jude Bellingham and a charge from former City star Brahim Diaz completed a spectacular comeback for Los Blancos.

Despite the fact that City is upset with the loss, their renowned former forward, Aguero, may be even more upset because he made it clear before the game what he would do if City lost.

“Real Madrid can’t beat Man City. If they beat City, I will cut off my testicles,” the Argentine legend boldly stated on the Som I Serem FCB Podcast.

Aguero had also placed £8,039 ($10,000) on two goals in the first half, but it had not paid off because only Haaland had scored in the opening forty-five minutes.

Wayne Rooney, a former competitor, too commented on City’s unexpected surrender, implying that Guardiola’s squad was ignorant when they entered the match.

The former Manchester United attacker said on Amazon Prime Video: “Manchester City showed a lot of naivety, especially in the closing minutes of the game. Tonight’s players were staring at one another, almost as if they didn’t trust one another, and I believe that worries Guardiola.

Aguero could want to tone down his optimism ahead of next week’s important second leg in Madrid.

In order to advance to the Champions League final-16, City must now win. Their earliest tournament exit since the 2012–13 season, when they were eliminated in the group stage, might result from failing to secure victory, albeit UEFA has subsequently modified the structure.

City will play Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium in a challenging Premier League encounter before taking on this European test. A victory would allow City to restore a top-four position.
