Kalvin Phillips Once Again Shows His Affection for Leeds United
Kalvin Phillips continues to send messages of support to his former Leeds United teammates, reinforcing his deep connection to the club that shaped his career.
The Ipswich Town midfielder may even be assisting Leeds in their summer transfer plans, having recently praised reported target Ben Godfrey. Now 29, Phillips is still fondly remembered by Leeds fans from his early days breaking into the first team.
A return to Elland Road is always a possibility, and with his latest message to a former Leeds player, the admiration for Phillips among supporters will only continue to grow.
Phillips Reaches Out to Former Teammate Adam Forshaw
While Leeds have a strong squad in the Championship, further reinforcements will be needed if Daniel Farke’s side hopes to compete at the Premier League level.
Phillips, with his extensive Premier League experience, has already proven his value in past top-flight campaigns. He played the full 90 minutes as Ipswich secured a point against Aston Villa over the weekend, while another ex-Leeds midfielder, Adam Forshaw, had a memorable moment—scoring his first goal in nine years during Blackburn Rovers’ 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.
Phillips took to Instagram to congratulate Forshaw on his long-awaited goal, commenting, “Love it Ads” followed by heart emojis, under Forshaw’s celebratory post.
Phillips’ Admiration for Forshaw is Evident
Phillips and Forshaw spent five seasons together at Leeds, and it’s clear the former holds the 33-year-old in high regard. Forshaw played a crucial role in Leeds’ 2018/19 play-off campaign, despite the team ultimately falling short against Derby County.
Forshaw has previously backed Leeds for promotion, and as a lifelong Leeds supporter, Phillips undoubtedly shares that hope. When Forshaw departed the club in July 2023, Phillips referred to him as a “legend” in an Instagram story—further proof of their strong bond from their time at Elland Road.
