Rangers Fans Frustrated with Board, but Signs of Stability Emerge – Dan Plumley

Rangers supporters have grown increasingly frustrated with the Ibrox board following a disastrous season. However, football finance expert Dan Plumley believes recent developments suggest some stability behind the scenes.

From a poor start at Hampden Park and failing to qualify for the Champions League to a shocking Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Queen’s Park, Rangers now sit 13 points behind Celtic in the league.

With financial constraints limiting their activity in the winter transfer window, their only signing was Rafael Fernandes on loan.

Boardroom Stability at Ibrox?

It was recently revealed that Patrick Stewart rejected late transfer bids for two Rangers players before the February 3 deadline.

Plumley suggests this indicates that, despite on-field struggles, there is no financial panic within the club.

“That’s the other side of things,” Plumley told Ibrox News.

“We’ve analyzed their finances from the most recent accounts, but those figures are always a year behind. We’ve also discussed their on-pitch struggles and the impact that could have.

“However, it doesn’t seem like the club is in panic mode. The fact that they could reject bids shows they have some financial flexibility.

“In a desperate situation, they would have accepted those offers. This suggests things behind the scenes might not be as bad as some believe.”

Clement’s Future Still Uncertain

Despite minor positives from the transfer window and a 3-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle, manager Philippe Clement remains under pressure.

While Stewart may find reassurance in certain aspects, reports indicate that Clement’s position remains precarious, with his future at Ibrox still in doubt.
