Norwich City Name Their Price for Josh Sargent Amid Leeds and Nottingham Forest Interest
Norwich City have placed a price tag of €15-20 million (£12.6-£16.8 million) on star striker Josh Sargent, who has attracted transfer interest from Leeds United and other clubs.
Sargent has been in excellent form for the Canaries in the Championship this season and is one of several strikers linked with a move to Leeds, alongside Tammy Abraham and Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor. Nottingham Forest is also reportedly among the Premier League clubs monitoring him ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Sargent is considering his “next step,” hinting that a summer departure could be on the horizon. Despite being under contract at Carrow Road until 2028—with no release clause—several clubs are expected to make a move for the 25-year-old forward.
If Leeds secure promotion, Sargent’s reported price would represent a bargain for a player who has contributed 17 goals and assists for an inconsistent Norwich side this season. With the financial boost that comes with reaching the Premier League, both Leeds and Forest would have the resources to afford him comfortably.
Given Norwich originally paid around £8 million to sign Sargent from Werder Bremen in 2021, their current valuation may be seen as relatively low. Additionally, Bundesliga clubs are said to be interested in bringing him back to Germany.
Sargent’s performances this season have cemented his status as one of the Championship’s most dangerous strikers. He has netted 12 league goals so far, with only Borja Sainz and Leeds’ Joel Piroe ahead of him. Across the past two seasons, he recorded 16 and 13 league goals, further proving his consistency since Norwich’s relegation in 2022.
Despite playing in a Norwich side that has struggled for consistency—currently sitting 12th after winning just one of their last eight matches—Sargent has continued to impress. While his previous stint in the Premier League saw him score just two league goals, he now looks like a far more complete forward as he enters his prime years.
With a summer exit looking increasingly likely, Leeds will hope to position themselves at the front of the queue for his signature. Whether he makes his return to the top flight in a Leeds shirt remains to be seen, but competition for his services is expected to be fierce.
