Leeds United’s transfer plans remain in motion despite Angus Kinnear’s end-of-season departure to Everton, as the club looks ahead to a potential Premier League campaign next season.
Following their draw with QPR on Saturday, Leeds saw both Burnley and Sheffield United close the gap at the top of the table. However, Daniel Farke’s side still lead the standings on goal difference, with Scott Parker’s Burnley sitting third, just two points behind after a victory over Swansea. With promotion within reach, Leeds have already begun preparing for top-flight survival.
The Yorkshire club has been linked with several high-profile targets, including Tammy Abraham, and now a promising Ligue 1 talent is on their radar.
Leeds and Celtic in £8.5m battle for Nantes wonderkid Herba Guirassy
According to Le Republicain Sportif, Leeds and Celtic are both vying for the signature of Nantes’ teenage winger Herba Guirassy. The 17-year-old, who turns 18 in August, has enjoyed a breakout season, featuring in 17 senior matches and scoring three goals—two in Ligue 1 and one in the Coupe de France.
The report claims both Leeds and Celtic are keen on securing the highly rated France U19 international, who is known for his blistering pace and versatility on either flank. Nantes are reportedly willing to sell for a fee of around £8.5 million.
Does Leeds’ interest in Guirassy hint at uncertainty over Manor Solomon?
Manor Solomon is currently on loan, but if he stays, Leeds would have four top-tier wingers, three of whom have already played in the Premier League. While the club is hopeful of signing the Israeli international permanently, competition from Everton—potentially led by Kinnear—could complicate matters.
Guirassy may be a contingency plan should Leeds fail to secure Solomon on a permanent deal, which is expected to cost around £15 million. However, even if Solomon does sign, Leeds could still target Guirassy as a long-term investment for the club’s attacking options.
