The winger has been a free agent since his contract with Fenerbahce was terminated last October.

Ryan Kent, now a free agent, appears ready to end his football hiatus with a move to Major League Soccer.

The former Rangers winger saw his lucrative contract with Fenerbahce cut short just 16 months after leaving the Scottish Premiership, having had limited involvement with the Turkish club since his departure from Ibrox.

After Jose Mourinho dismissed the underperforming player in Istanbul, rumors surfaced that the 28-year-old might return to Ibrox.

At that time, manager Philippe Clement expressed his admiration for Kent, having attempted to sign him while at Club Brugge.

Several Turkish media outlets reported that a return to Glasgow was a possibility in the January transfer window, but no deal was finalized.

Kent was also linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in January, with Iranian club Persepolis, managed by former Fenerbahce boss Ismail Kartal, reportedly making an offer.

However, Kent reportedly made it clear to his agent that he wanted to stay in European football, which contributed to his prolonged search for a new club.

Now, it seems he has abandoned that preference, as reports suggest he’s nearing the end of his exile that has lasted since October.

He has not played since July, when he made a rare appearance in the Champions League qualifiers under Mourinho.

Reports from the U.S. indicate that Kent has been offered a lifeline by Seattle Sounders.

The Sounders are said to be in advanced negotiations to sign the free agent for the remainder of the MLS season, with an option for the 2026 season if Kent performs well.
