Vaclav Cerny Shines for Czechia in 4-0 Win Over Gibraltar

Rangers winger Vaclav Cerny found the net for Czechia as he played a key role in their 4-0 victory over Gibraltar on Tuesday.

Cerny, who started the match, opened the scoring in the 21st minute and remained on the pitch until he was substituted in the 79th minute. He also provided the assist for his team’s second goal in the 50th minute, earning praise from Czech media for his strong start to World Cup Qualifying.

Cerny Earns Recognition Away from Ibrox

The 27-year-old has been one of the few bright spots for Rangers this season after joining on loan in the summer. While the campaign has been turbulent for the club, Barry Ferguson has brought some stability as they push for success in the Europa Leagueā€”one of their last remaining objectives.

If Cerny can replicate his international form at club level, he could be a decisive player for Rangers in the final stretch of the season. Czech outlet iSport awarded him an 8/10 rating, calling him “the best and most active Czech” on the pitch. His assist for Patrik Schick was particularly highlighted, with the publication noting: “He beautifully released Schick into the goal.”

Meanwhile, Sport CZ went even further in their praise, rating him 1 out of 5 in a system where lower scores indicate stronger performances. They described him as “the most diligent and visible member of the national teamā€™s attack.”

Rangers Must Secure Cerny Permanently

Cernyā€™s impressive performances for both club and country make a strong case for Rangers to secure him on a permanent deal. He has been a consistent contributor in the Scottish Premiership, regularly delivering goals while on loan from Wolfsburg.

With Rangers expected to appoint a new manager once the season concludes, the clubā€™s hierarchy will need to decide on Cernyā€™s future. Reports suggest it would cost Ā£6.75 million to make his move permanent in the summer, a fee that appears justified given his impact.

The Czech international is reportedly keen to remain in Scotland, which could make negotiations at Ibrox more straightforward. If he maintains his current form, signing him permanently should be a priority for Rangers.
