Hamza Igamane has quickly made a strong impression with the Moroccan national team, earning praise despite limited game time during his first call-up— including recognition from a Real Madrid star.
In Morocco’s World Cup qualifying double-header, they edged past Niger with a 2-1 win, needing a late goal to secure victory. Igamane made his international debut with a brief appearance off the bench.
Morocco continued their perfect start with a 2-0 win over Tanzania, though head coach Walid Regragui opted to keep Igamane on the bench for that match. However, that didn’t stop Real Madrid playmaker Brahim Diaz from taking notice.
Diaz, who scored a penalty in the Tanzania win, showed his support for Igamane by commenting with two fire emojis on the Rangers striker’s Instagram post, where he shared photos from his debut.
Regragui has also expressed confidence in Igamane, especially after his crucial derby-winning goal against Celtic last weekend.
Reflecting on Igamane’s debut, Regragui said: “Hamza came on at a tough moment in the game against Niger. It was his first time with the national team, and he showed great motivation. I really like his mentality—he’s young and has a bright future ahead.”
