April’s upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final in Glasgow has captured the attention of fans in Edinburgh, with Hearts selling 20,000 tickets for next month’s clash against Aberdeen at Hampden Park.
An initial 19,000 tickets were snapped up within days, followed by an additional 1,000 on Friday as Tynecastle supporters rallied behind their team ahead of the April 19 fixture.
Hearts officials are now preparing to approach Hampden officials to request more tickets, as Aberdeen is believed to have sold over 10,000 seats so far. The match, kicking off at 12:30 pm, is the first of the two semi-finals, with Celtic facing St Johnstone the following day.
It remains unclear whether the Scottish Football Association (SFA) will grant Hearts extra tickets or give Aberdeen more time to sell theirs. SFA officials are eager to see a packed Hampden for both semi-finals, and demand remains high among Edinburgh fans who have yet to secure a seat. For now, maroon will dominate Hampden, with Jambos having claimed every available ticket allocated to them.
Hearts confirmed via social media that their allocation of 20,000 tickets had sold out, stating:
“It’s official; 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 because our entire @ScottishCup semi-final ticket allocation has now 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗢𝗨𝗧. Over 20,000 Jambos will be cheering on the boys in maroon at Hampden. We will, in the coming days, explore the possibility with the Scottish FA of securing additional tickets but for now, thank you to our unrivalled supporters.”
This will be the first Hearts-Aberdeen encounter at Hampden since the 1996 Scottish Cup semi-final. The final is set to take place at Hampden on Saturday, May 24. As with all events at the national stadium, tickets are digital-only and distributed via the Hampden Park app, with no paper tickets available.

Hampden Ticket Instructions for Hearts Fans
Hearts provided detailed guidance on ticketing through a statement on their website earlier this week:
“After purchasing, tickets will be sent to the account holder. If you intend to buy tickets on someone else’s behalf using their reference number, the tickets will be linked to the email address associated with that reference number. We recommend that all supporters check their registered email via eTickets before purchase.”
The club also reminded fans that wheelchair user tickets cannot be bought online. Disability Access Officer Keith Ferguson will provide further instructions by email on how to purchase these tickets, with emails sent before Monday evening not being considered.
For previous Hampden visits, front sections of P1-P4 were allocated for easy-access seating and non-turnstile entry. These tickets are available at reduced rates and include a complimentary Personal Assistant ticket. Disabled supporters can also opt to sit in other areas at standard prices, though these seats require turnstile access.
