As the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition enters its eighth round this week, Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Glen Jackson is maintaining a composed demeanor, aiming not to show signs of pressure or burden his players, as he believes it would not be beneficial.
With just one victory so far this season and currently sitting at the bottom of the table, Jackson acknowledges that time is running out and emphasizes the importance of securing points.
He remains optimistic about the Drua’s strong home advantage, noting that with five home games remaining, they must ensure a strong start this weekend.
When asked by fijivillage Sports about the team’s mental preparation and how distractions are being managed ahead of game day, Jackson stated that it is the responsibility of the coaching staff and management to support these young, eager athletes who are determined to perform in front of their fans.
Additionally, a moment of silence will be observed before the Drua vs. Crusaders match in honor of VITIFM’s beloved personality, Maikeli Radua.
The Drua will face the Crusaders at 3:35 PM on Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Other matches this week include the Chiefs vs. Reds at 6:05 PM tomorrow, Moana Pasifika vs. Waratahs at 1:05 PM on Saturday, the Blues vs. Hurricanes at 6:05 PM on Saturday, and the Force vs. Highlanders at 8:35 PM on Saturday.
