Brisbane Broncos second-rower Brendan Piakura has received a two-game suspension for a high tackle on Wests Tigers forward Terrell May during Brisbane’s 46-24 victory on Saturday.
The NRL match review committee hit Piakura with a grade two careless high tackle charge.
He faces a two-match ban if he enters an early guilty plea, but risks a three-game suspension if he challenges the charge and is unsuccessful at the judiciary.
Referee Liam Kennedy sent him to the sin bin following the 20th-minute incident at Suncorp Stadium.
Regardless of the suspension, Piakura was already expected to miss at least one match after failing a head injury assessment following a collision with Tigers lock Alex Twal.
He was stretchered off late in the game.
