Stoke City, Norwich City, and Blackburn Rovers are all reportedly eyeing a summer move for Nottingham Forest’s promising youngster Adam Berry, according to a fresh report.
The 19-year-old forward joined Forest from Manchester United last year, but with his contract expiring soon, he’s preparing to depart in search of regular first-team football.
Primarily a winger, Berry is also capable of operating as an attacking midfielder and has recently featured as a centre-forward for Forest’s under-21 side.
Championship Trio Tracking Adam Berry as Exit Looms
Berry, originally from Ashton-under-Lyne, started his footballing journey at Manchester United, joining their academy at age five. He progressed through the ranks to their under-18 squad before leaving Old Trafford in early 2024.
After a trial spell with Forest, during which he scored against United in an U18 Premier League match, Berry earned a contract lasting until 2025. He reportedly turned down interest from clubs like Burnley and Rangers to sign with Forest.
However, just over a year on, the teenager is said to be dissatisfied with his development at the club, prompting speculation that he’ll move on this summer.
According to TEAMtalk, Championship outfits Stoke City, Norwich City, and Blackburn Rovers have all expressed admiration for Berry. Stoke are believed to be pushing hardest to sign him, while Norwich and Blackburn have made initial enquiries regarding his availability.
Despite Forest offering him a new contract, Berry appears set to decline in favour of a team offering more senior opportunities. Interest from overseas clubs has also emerged, with Belgian side Westerlo monitoring the situation.
Stoke City Could Offer a Clear Path to First-Team Football
Berry has yet to make a senior appearance for Forest, and whether he’s ready for regular Championship action remains uncertain. Nonetheless, his background at Manchester United and the attention from multiple clubs point to strong potential.
Stoke are reportedly long-time admirers of Berry and may view him as a smart acquisition—particularly if they drop to League One. They are just two points above the relegation zone with six games left, and their league fate could play a crucial role in Berry’s decision.
A major squad reshuffle is expected at the bet365 Stadium this summer. Head coach Mark Robins may part ways with fringe players and could also see key talents like Million Manhoef and Bae Junho leave for sizeable fees. Andre Vidigal is also expected to move on, and Lynden Gooch is out of contract.
These potential exits will create room for new attacking signings, and Berry could be a cost-effective, high-upside addition. A move to Stoke might also be appealing on a personal level, given the regional proximity.
With a summer move almost inevitable, Berry looks set for a fresh chapter—one where his pursuit of senior football takes centre stage.
