There’s growing speculation that Leicester City will appoint a new manager ahead of next season.

Although they managed a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s stint in charge has been largely disappointing.

Without a win since January 26, the Foxes remain on course for a return to the Championship, casting serious doubt over Van Nistelrooy’s future at the club.

Several candidates have been linked with the job, but one potential appointment might now be off the table as a top Bundesliga club enters the race.

RB Leipzig eye up in-demand Championship boss

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Leicester job. The Foxes are among a number of clubs showing interest, including already-relegated Southampton.

However, according to Sky Sports Deutschland, RB Leipzig are in ongoing discussions with the young German coach.

Reporter Phillip Hinze notes that while Cesc Fabregas remains Leipzig’s first choice, Rohl is still a strong contender. Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a fan of Rohl’s work, praising his efforts under tough circumstances at Hillsborough.

Rohl focused on finishing season strong with Wednesday

Leicester are aware that Rohl won’t entertain any job offers until the season concludes, as he remains focused on guiding Sheffield Wednesday to a potential top-six finish.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Post in March, Rohl said: “The rumours don’t affect me. My full focus is on Sheffield Wednesday. I’m not distracted by what’s going on elsewhere—I know what’s expected of me and my responsibility to the club, the players, and our incredible fans.”
